Business Development Officer

Surulere, Nigeria

We are looking for a Business Developer to drive customer acquisition across two segments: direct business customers (SMEs and enterprises needing FIRS e-invoicing compliance) and System Integrator partners (accounting firms, bookkeepers, and ERP vendors who manage e-invoicing for their clients).

You will be our first commercial hire. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the go-to-market strategy for a product that addresses a regulatory mandate affecting 200,000+ Nigerian businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Build a pipeline of prospects through outreach, networking, industry events, and referrals
  • Conduct product demos showing how our platform simplifies FIRS compliance
  • Convert free-tier users to paid plans through targeted engagement
  • Manage the full sales cycle from first contact to signed contract

SI Partner Development

  • Recruit accounting firms, bookkeeping practices, and tax consultancies as SI partners
  • Demonstrate the revenue opportunity: SI partners earn recurring revenue by managing e-invoicing for their clients through our platform
  • Support SI partner onboarding and help them acquire their first clients on the platform
  • Build and maintain relationships with key SI partners

Market Development

  • Educate the market on FIRS e-invoicing requirements and compliance deadlines
  • Represent the company at industry events, tax conferences, and accounting association meetings
  • Create and deliver presentations to prospects, partners, and industry groups
  • Gather customer feedback and relay product requirements to the development team

Revenue Operations

  • Track all leads, opportunities, and pipeline in CRM
  • Forecast monthly and quarterly revenue
  • Report on key metrics: pipeline value, conversion rates, customer acquisition cost, partner activation rate
  • Develop pricing proposals and negotiate contracts
